“Concerts should end with trombones and cymbals going wild,” Music Director Bruce Kiesling has been known to say. To celebrate our 55th season, we present a season of concerts each designed to highlight powerful endings to moving pieces that can only be described as “colossal.” At each concert, you’ll hear these “Power Chords” from all over the world. Monumental works from our favorite Russians – Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Mussorgsky –combine with American music from “West Side Story” and “The Red Violin.” Our film night series continues with a highlight show featuring music from the spy genre.  Into that mix, we add Beethoven’s Eroica” Symphony and Mahler’s Fifth.  All in all, a towering season to fill the Fox Theatre with pageantry and the “Power Chords” from more than 80 musicians assembled to bring the house down.

Thank you to the City of Visalia and the Arts Consortium for funding this project; the Cellar Door and Aaron Gomes for supporting the concept; Bruce Kiesling for being Bruce Kiesling (and ALL that that entails) and Louise Gutierrez for doing the heavy lifting on the logistics. The musicians were wonderful and the vibe was amazing-- if you weren't there, you missed out--we'll catch you with the next round...
