“Concerts should end with trombones and cymbals going wild,” Music Director Bruce Kiesling has been known to say. To celebrate our 55th season, we present a season of concerts each designed to highlight powerful endings to moving pieces that can only be described as “colossal.” At each concert, you’ll hear these “Power Chords” from all over the world. Monumental works from our favorite Russians – Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Mussorgsky –combine with American music from “West Side Story” and “The Red Violin.” Our film night series continues with a highlight show featuring music from the spy genre.  Into that mix, we add Beethoven’s Eroica” Symphony and Mahler’s Fifth.  All in all, a towering season to fill the Fox Theatre with pageantry and the “Power Cords” from more than 80 musicians assembled to bring the house down.

On Friday, Dec. 5, the Tulare County Symphony office is moving! It's just across the hall--but it is still a lot of work! This is is a very busy time of year for us. We are a staff of 2 and we can't afford to have operations down for more than a day. Musicians- if there is anyway you can help us move, please leave a comment here. We especially need men to move furniture and our big heavy music library. If you have a dolly, we will need a couple. We start at 8 a.m.--and luckily the Tazzaria is just upstairs. Come pre-caffeinated! Thank you!!! Juliette & Louise

This lovely email arrived in our inbox today: "At last. The perfect concert (last Saturday)! "The Marche Slave was very nice. Cello Concerto was amazing. What a talented young woman she is (and is she really older than 12?). Beautifully played. "The Symphony No. 6 - Pathetique - is simply the most beautiful piece of music ever written at any time in the history of music. Nothing is more beautiful that this Tchaikovsky piece. From the first time I ever heard it until now, nothing has taken its place. The orchestra did a wonderful job of playing this extraordinary symphony - they sounded, to me, like they were at the top of their game." Irene Morse
